The recent launch of Swansea University’s School for Social Care Research was an exhilarating demonstration of co-pro in practice – including the ‘With Music in Mind‘ flashmob who regaled us with an unexpected concert (see photo, and check out the video on the link), and dementia activists – both carers and those living with the condition – who provided a moving testimony of the need to look beyond the diagnostic label.

We don’t doubt there will be more of the same from the School: their ambition is ‘to create an environment where the public are central to health and social care research in Wales… putting the citizen at the heart of creating new knowledge and setting the standards of how researchers and the public can work in partnership to influence and deliver research that matters to the people of Wales.’ They are also helping us to draw up the Network evaluation brief, and are taking a lead on our co-pro evidence work-stream. How entirely lovely is that, and how entirely lovely are they!
